March 2, 2024 – West Bend, WI – Alan “Al” Craig Dunn, 75, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2024, at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Alan was born on August 31, 1948, in Milwaukee to Lee and Sylvia Dunn (Malak). He was united in marriage to Michelle Marks on September 18, 1971, in Milwaukee.
Alan graduated from Milwaukee Tech High School in 1966. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree at UW-Milwaukee. Al proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Al worked for the Milwaukee Sentinel as a newspaper reporter, and later for Conley’s West Bend Daily News.
He was a musician at heart and played the drums. Al also enjoyed football, golf, cooking, fishing, and hunting. Most of all, Al was a happy person and loved spending time with his family. He was known for his recognizable and contagious laugh. Al made friends wherever he went.
Those Al leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Michelle; three children, Tristan Dunn, Padrick (Angela) Dunn, and Erin Dunn; two grandchildren, Finnola and Nevie Dunn; sister, Susan Kalan, sister-in-law, Mary Marks; and brother-in-law, Michael Marks. He is further survived by longtime friend, Tom “Jeff” Ratajczyk, as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Sylvia Dunn; niece, Shelby Therriault; and brother-in-law, David Marks, Jr.
VISITATION: Al’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service – 1315 W Washington St. – West Bend, WI 53095.
SERVICE: A Memorial Service in remembrance of Alan will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Private interment will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery in Union Grove.
