Obit: Teresa Mary Becker, 95

Teresa Mary Becker (nee Kennedy) age 95 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Pavilion of Glacier Valley in Slinger, Wisconsin.

Teresa was born on March 20, 1920 in Marysville, Ontario Canada to Richard and Clara (nee Murphy) Kennedy. She was united in marriage to Raymond R. Becker on June 3, 1944 in Marysville, Ontario Canada. She began her nursing career in 1942 and worked at the Hartford St. Joseph’s Hospital.  She assisted in creating the hospice program there and enjoyed participating in many of the community events including the Tree of Hope. Teresa was a longtime member of St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in Hartford.

She is survived by her loving children, Richard Becker of Hartford, Robert (Maureen) Becker of Janesville, Terri (Richard) Merkel of Wauwatosa, Bonnie (Thomas) Callen of Wauwatosa, Paul (Sarah) Becker of Kansas City, MO, and son-in-law, Carl Gahlman of Racine; 15 cherished grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and dear sibling-in-law, Jim Jordan of Ontario, Canada. Teresa is survived by many other loved relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Raymond Becker; loving daughter, Mary Gahlman; loving daughter-in-law, Kay Becker; and her dear sisters, Mildred (Bernard) Skildum, Mary (Matthew) Rady, and Agnes Jordan.

Mass of Christian Burial for Teresa will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 State St., Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. David LaPlante and Fr. Leonard Copeland concelebrating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Interment in St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Kilian’s Parish (428 Forest St. Hartford, WI 53027) or to a charity of one’s choice are greatly appreciated.
