Obit: Russell C. Becker, 88, West Bend

Russell C. Becker, 88, of West Bend, entered Eternal peace on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, West Bend.

He was born on April 26, 1927 to the late Arthur and Ida (nee Kuester) Becker in West Bend. He attended a small country school in North Trenton township when growing up and graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1944. After high school he worked at the Slinger foundry.

On June 29, 1948 he was united in marriage to Clara (Joynell) Hoffmann. He worked for the Gehl company and retired as maintenance supervisor after 37 years of service. Becker was a proud longtime employee of the Gehl Company. Very well known and well liked by his fellow workers.

Over the years he built several log homes including a number of beautiful lake homes. He enjoyed vacationing at his cabin in Clam Lake. Russell and Clara visited every state in America. He loved his country, enjoyed animals and was a member of the NRA. Russell was a wise and fair man and as a father he loved his children with all of his heart and always took time to listen. He will be missed by all who knew him.

 

 

Those Russell leave behind to cherish his memory includes his best friend and loving wife of 68 years, Clara; four children and a special sister-in-law, Jeanette “Snooks” (Donald) Warnecke of Wausau, Gale (Frank) Warnecke of West Bend, Karl (Sandra) Becker of West Bend; Lora (Tom) Tucek of Cable, WI; and Lana (David) Fechter of West Bend; eleven grandchildren, Russell (Linda Cochenet-Warnecke) Warnecke; Chad (Becky) Warnecke; Karie (Andy) Kahrs, Kellie (Chad) Marquardt, Stacy Becker; Jeremy (Twylia Dailey) Tucek; Timothy (Albi) Tucek, Melissa (David) Karas, Rebecca (R. Cory) Fox; Joy (Scott) Schultz, Buckley Fechter; nineteen great-grandchildren, Sienna Warnecke, Wyatt Russell Warnecke, Mariah Warnecke, Alyssa Warnecke, Mason Sebeny, Landon Becker, Kaden Kahrs, Kylie Kahrs, Jace Tucek, Brayden Tucek, Tommy Tucek, Riley McElfresh, Roman Karas, Asher Karas, Dylan Jenson, R. Caleb Fox, Kinlee Lora Fox, Kail Schultz, Sage Schultz; six step great-grandchildren, Tanner Lauter, Koltin Lauter, Brett Lauter, Stephanie Lauter, Gabriella Allen, and Sofi Allen; other relatives and friends.

 

 

In addition to his parents, Russell is preceded in death by a great-grand daughter, Avah Elizabeth, his brother, A. Raymond Becker; sister, Pearl (Allen) Renk; and his black lab, Jack.

 

 

A funeral service in remembrance of Russell will be held on Sunday, April 10, at 4 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend.

 

 

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

 

 

A special thank-you to Dr. Holcomb for providing years of healthcare and friendship to Russell. Also, thank you to all the kind, caring and knowledgeable teams provided to Russell from the police officers, ambulance crew, staff and Doctors at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
