Nov. 14, 2016 – West Bend, WI – Roger C. Seideman, 81, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk with his daughter at his side.
Roger was born on March 23, 1935, the son of the late Raymond and Clara (Gerner) Seideman. On August 4, 1962, he was united in marriage to Susan Kienast at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford. Susan preceded Roger in death on December 1, 2005.
Roger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend and also a member of Newburg Lion’s Club. He enjoyed all the activities at the Samaritan Home including, bingo, crafts, the music Annie provided on Monday nights, and the family night car show. Roger loved being at the farm, mowing the lawn and attending the Seideman Family Reunions. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet (Les) Vanderplasse of Oconomowoc; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Clara Klein, and Madeline Ruth Klein; three brothers, Charles (Virginia) Seideman of Austin, TX, Gerald Seideman of St. Germaine and Wayne (Rosemary) Seideman of West Bend; two sisters, Marion Race of West Bend and Phyllis (Bruce) Naumann of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Roger Kienast of California; five sisters-in-law, Ruth Seideman of Oklahoma City, OK, Maggie Seideman of West Bend, Linda Schaefer of Neosho and Mary (Steve) Wetor of Hartford, Doris Kienast of Hartford; a special friend, Sandra Gonwa of Campbellsport; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Roger was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis Seideman, Walter Seideman, and Fredrick Seideman; an infant sister, Ruth Seideman; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth Race, Jim Kienast and Kent Kienast and a sister-in-law, Hertha “Kitty” Seideman.
A funeral service for Roger will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend. Rev. David Schoob will officiate and cremation will follow the traditional service with an inurnment held at a later date at Newburg Union Cemetery.
Roger’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
