August 14, 2018 – Slinger, WI – Robert A. Pulliam of Slinger died on Friday, August 10, 2018 at his residence at the age of 71 years. He was born on July 15, 1947 in Evergreen Park, IL to the late Merrill and Claire Ann (nee Russett) Pulliam.
He grew up in Western Springs, IL, graduating from Lyons Township High School of LaGrange, IL. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving during Vietnam. Following his discharge, he returned to IL. He later went on to earn his Associates Degree. For many years, he worked as a pipe fitter working on HVAC systems. He also volunteered as a fire fighter and EMT with the fire department in Western Springs.
In 2005, he and Jean moved to Wisconsin, settling in the Slinger area.
Survivors include his wife Jean; 6 children: Kortney Burns, Heather (Gil) Sharp, Adam Staehle, Alison (Gabe) Staehle, Bryon Pulliam and Tyler Pulliam; 4 grandchildren Devin, Jackson, Matthew and Tes; 1 brother Michael (Kay) Pulliam; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother Stephen.
The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend on Wednesday, August 15 from 5 until 7 p.m. with Military Honors provided by the West Bend Color Guard and Firing Squad. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 16 in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the Washington County Humane Society.
