Obit: Mr. John Feith, 92, of Saukville

August 19, 2018 – Saukville, WI – Mr. John Feith of Saukville passed away Friday morning, August 17, 2018, at The Cottages of Cedar Run in West Bend, where he had resided for the past two and a half years. He was 92 years old.

John was born in Belecska, Hungary on December 21, 1925, son of John and Catherine (nee Walters) Feith Fueredi. He grew up in Hungary and earned his Masters degree in Math at University of Sopron. During World War II, John was recruited as a translator for the US Army. While in Germany he met andmarried Elizabeth Nass. The couple united in marriage near Heidelburg on February 18, 1947. They emigrated to the United States with two young sons in 1952, settling in the Saukville area, and attained citizenship in 1957. 

 

 

 

 


Mr. Feith ran Wisconsin Pension & Group Services as well as Employee Benefit Claims (EBC) for many years. He and Elizabeth wanted to give back to their community and were very involved in philanthropic work; they were instrumental in the creation of the Feith Family Statuary Park at the Mayo Clinic entrance (Rochester, MN), St. Peter’s UCC addition, Feith Family YMCA and the new Ozaukee Humane Society building (all in Saukville), as well as donating both financially and with generous amounts of time as Board Chairman of the Cedar Community Campus in West Bend.

The couple also sponsored a family who immigrated from Hungary and settled in Saukville. John sent money and support back to friends in need in Hungary for many years. He was a passionate poker player, being part of a close group who played every Tuesday night for over 60 years, and the group is still active. John enjoyed fishing, hobby farming and investing in the stock market.


Mr. Feith is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth of West Bend, and their three children: John A. (Maria) Feith of Grafton, Andre (Helen) Feith of Tampa, FL, and Sue (Tom) Shannon of Saukville, as well as seven grandchildren: John (Kelly) Feith of Madison, Cristina Feith of Manhattan, NY, Paul (Amaia) Feith of Bilbao, Spain, Andy (Tara) Shannon of London, England, Peter Shannon of Milwaukee, Natasha Feith of Zurich, Switzerland, and Richard Feith of Tampa, FL. He is further survived by six great-grandchildren: Ian & Xabi Feith of Bilbao, Jonas & Paloma Feith of Madison, Cecilia Feith of Manhattan and Jack Shannon of London, brother Adam (Hilde) Fueredi, MD of Naples, FL, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.


Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 24th at 4 PM, at Parkside Community United Church of Christ (formerly St. Peter’s UCC) 166 W. Dekora St., Saukville. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH from 2 PM until the time of services.


Memorials, if desired, are suggested to the Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA in John’s name or Parkside Community UCC.
