April 26, 2017 – Campbellsport, WI – Maynard W. Bartelt, 78, of Campbellsport, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017, at his home.
He was born on October 20, 1938, in Campbellsport, the son of the late Otto C. Bartelt and Lorinda (nee Krahn) Bartelt-Kreif.
Maynard was a lifelong and 5th generation farmer on the family homestead. After retiring from farming he worked at Fleet Farm in West Bend for 10 years. Maynard was a lifelong member at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane.
In his younger years Maynard enjoyed playing dart ball, fast pitch softball, and bowling. He also loved going fishing and hunting.
Those Maynard leaves behind to cherish his memory include two brothers, Otto A. (Beverly) Bartelt of Kewaskum and Thomas Bartelt of Campbellsport; three sisters, Janice (Rodger) Breselow of Princeton, Debra (Donald) Theisen of Campbellsport, and Jean (Robert) Robrahn of West Bend; a brother-in-law, David Coulter of Kewaskum; four step-sons, John, Joe (Lonnie), Scott, and Jeff (Pam) Newhauser; five grandchildren, Jessica Panzer, Jake(Kim) Panzer, Jodi Newhauser, Lindsay (Christopher Kuechler) Newhauser, and Jennee Newhauser; six great-granddaughters, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Maynard was preceded in death by his step-father, Albert Kreif; a sister, Barbara Coulter; a brother, Bruce Bartelt; a nephew, Craig Coulter; two great-nieces, Sabrina Stahl and Alexi Ringle, and other relatives.
A funeral service for Maynard will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane (N683 County Rd S, Kewaskum, WI 53040). Rev. Mark Eckert will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church are appreciated.
