Matthew W. Stautz, age 43 years, went to his eternal rest July 16, 2016. He passed away doing the second thing he loves, riding his motorcycle. His first love is his children Megan of Rothschild and Dakota of Tennessee.
Matthew was born in Milwaukee and grew up in West Bend, graduating from West Bend West. During his youth, he was active in sports, especially hockey which continued through his thirties. Matthew joined the US Navy and was stationed on the USS McCandless. He also obtained his second degree Black Belt in Karate after returning from the Navy.
After serving his country in the Navy, Matthew pursued a career as a Paramedic/Dispatcher for much of his adult years. Recently, he was self-employed as a transportation engineer.
Matthew is survived by his children: Megan and Dakota, parents: Roland (Chris) Stautz and Jean Marie (Kevin Boynton) Swift, brother Jamie (Heather) Stautz and a niece and nephew. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins including step-brothers: Master Gunnery Sergeant Jason (Angela & daughter Liberty) Boynton of Madison and Marine Corp. Captain Colin (Ellen) Boynton of San Clemente, CA and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his ex-wife Laura, grandfather Leonard Swift, grandparents Rollin and Margaret Stautz.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend. Inurnment will take place at King Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, July 23 from 12:00 pm until time of service (3:00 pm).
