June 20, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Mary Jean Engelbrecht (nee Casey), age 93 years of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2017. Jean was born on May 23, 1924 to Raphael and Claire (nee Laffey) Casey and raised in Watertown. Graduated from Watertown High School, class of 1941. She married Franklin J. Engelbrecht on January 23, 1946. She was active in her church and community. She was a longtime member of West Bend Country Club and enjoyed her wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jean is survived by her children Michael (Jerrilyn), Neil (Cathy), Steven (Kathryn), grandchildren Courtney (Stephen) Barr, M. Christian (Cara), Kathleen (Gregg) Lewison, Laura (Jason) Braatz, Conor, Charles (Kimberly), Katherine, and Samuel. Further survived by her great-grandchildren Wyatt Lewison, Michael Patrick Engelbrecht, brother-in-law Elden (Val) Engelbrecht, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Franklin, brother John “Jack” Casey.
