Obit: Mary Ann Kissinger, 92

Mary Ann Kissinger, nee Schmidt, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Samaritan Health Center at the age of 92 years. She was born on March 26, 1923 in West Bend to the late Henry and Hildegard (nee Peters) Schmidt.

On December 27, 1941, she was united in marriage to Alfred F. Kissinger at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Alfred predeceased January 17, 1993.

During World War II, she worked at the West Bend Woolen Mills. In 1962, she started working at the new Washington County Courthouse as the receptionist. She held this position until retiring in 1985.

Mary Ann enjoyed listening to polka music and quilting with the Mission Circle at Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was one of the original members of the former West Bend Beautification Committee.

Survivors include 3 daughters: Bonnie (Robert) Gremminger of West Bend, Sandy (John) Reese of Bentonville, AR and Kathy Hayes of Kewaunee; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Violet Becker and Doris Gauger; 1 sister-in-law Sandy Schmidt; 1 brother-in-law Robert (Frances) Kissinger; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Tom Hayes, 2 sisters Rosemary (George) Steffan and Phyllis Gahagan, 3 brothers Donald (Jeannette) Schmidt, Harold Schmidt and Marvin (Delores) Schmidt; her parents-in-law George and Clara Kissinger; and brothers-in-law Leroy (Luella) Kissinger, Alois (Imelda) Kissinger, Jerome (Dorothy) Kissinger, Linus Becker and Harold Gauger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 21 at 1 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Repenshek presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m.

Masses or memorials to the Holy Angels School Trust Fund appreciated.
