Marjorie E. Hau passed away peacefully on January 11, 2016, at the age of 90. She was born on March 4, 1925 the daughter of Dennis and Catherine (Roltgen) Schockmel, and resided in the Town of Greenbush until her final years. Beloved wife of the late Richard “Rich” Hau, mother of Daniel (Ruth) of Franklin, Thomas (Linda) of Kiel, Richard (Peg) of Elkhart Lake, Mary Smuda of Wausau and Eugene (Lisa) of Elkhart Lake. Marjorie was a proud and loving grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sisters Anna Marie (the late Joseph) Shea, Joan (the late Gerald) Bittner, Patricia (the late Harvey) Rieden, as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Together with her children and late husband, the family operated a dairy farm located 5 miles west of Greenbush for over 45 years. Rich and Marge had many friends with whom they loved playing cards, square dancing, bowling and socializing. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Angels Parish in Armstrong, and over the decades served as a member of the Altar Society where she donated much appreciated time, bakery and desserts. Marge was an avid and loyal Wisconsin sports fan and closely followed the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers and Marquette Warriors/Golden Eagles. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; watching their participation in sporting and other activities. She was always ready to comment on the officiating errors that went against her home team. Marge endeared herself to all who came to know her for her gentleness, kindness, generosity, fun-loving spirit and her ever-present sense of wit, even to the end of her years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16th from 9:00 AM until time of Mass at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 16th at 11:30 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Church. Rev. John Radetski will officiate and burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Armstrong.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to Wisconsin Lions Camp, which provides summer activities for both children and adults with disabilities.
