Obit: Marjorie A. Schowalter, 95, of West Bend

 

Feb. 23, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Marjorie A. Schowalter, 95, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Cedar Bay West in West Bend.

 

Marjorie was born on September 14, 1922, the daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor (Hohaus) Abraham. On September 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Curtis Schowalter in Milwaukee. Curtis preceded Marjorie in death on October 19, 2013.

 

Marjorie spent a life in service as a pastor’s wife and teacher. Nothing was more important than her love of family and she was happiest surrounded by her loved ones. In her high school years she developed her love of music that carried her through her entire life. She will be remembered for many musical programs that entertained the residents of Cedar Communities over the years.

 

Those Marjorie leaves behind to cherish her memory include three children, Jane (James) Bracher of Carmel, California, Ruth Ann (Lynden) Mitchell of Annandale, Virginia, and James (Raechel) Schowalter of Brookfield, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Bracher, Ted (Lisa) Mitchell, Lindsey (Wes) Donnelly, Kathryn (Joel) Amidon, Kristin (Andrew) Amenson, and Timothy (Renee) Schowalter; 12 great-grandchildren, Wesley Johnston, Ty Mitchell, Alec Mitchell, Noah Amidon, Annabelle Amidon, Jackson Amidon, Henry Amenson, Abigail Amenson, Dakota Balagna, Tessa Balagna, Nova Schowalter, and Milo Schowalter; a sister-in-law, Ruth Abraham; a brother-in-law, Dick (Lynn) Schowalter; other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by a brother, James Abraham; a sister-in-law, Margaret (James) McConnaughay; and her parents-in-law, Harris and Adel Schowalter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

A memorial service for Marjorie will be held at a later date at Cedar Ridge in West Bend.

 

The Schowalter Family wishes to thank Cedar Communities and Cedar Hospice for the extraordinary care provided to Marjorie.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Cedar Communities and Cedar Hospice are appreciated.

 

The Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Marjorie’s arrangements.
