Marie L. Dana, age 88, formerly of West Foster Street, Port Washington, WI, died peacefully Monday, September 12, 2016 at Anita’s Garden of Plymouth where she had resided the past few years.
She was born on April 4, 1928 on the family farm in the Town of Port Washington; daughter of Frank and Catherine Swatek Hansen, Sr. On August 14, 1948, Marie married Carl J. Dana of the town of Holland. With the war over, together they moved to Port Washington.
Marie always enjoyed time spent with family. She proudly kept her home, baking and cooking to keep everyone happy. She will be remembered for her wonderful pie crusts and chili. Everything was good. She made scrumptious cakes for family and friends. She took great pride for her family, her grandchildren and others she welcomed into her home.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy Wilmot of Port Washington, daughter-in-law Nancy Dana of Atoka, TN, grandchildren Robin (Mark) Baake and Jason (Tracey) Wilmot, great-grandchildren Samantha and Eric Baake and Tyler and Briana Wilmot, step-grandson Ken Dunn, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband Carl, her son Carl Dana Jr, step-grandchildren Dorothy and Ron Dunn, her sisters Catherine Hansen, Ida and her husband Gerald Turrene and Elrita Mielke, her brothers Frank Hansen Jr, Lester and Leo Hansen and infant brothers Joseph and John Hansen.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6PM Thursday, September 15, 2016 at St. John XXIII Parish-St. Mary’s Church, 430 N. Johnson Street, Port Washington. Visitation 4-6PM Thursday AT CHURCH prior to Mass with a 4PM Rosary. Entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington.
