Feb. 27, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Lucille B. Crass, 89, of West Bend. Heaven received another angel on Monday, February 26, 2018.
She was born on March 27, 1928 to the late Arthur and Edna (nee Wickert) Puestow in West Bend. She was raised on the family farm. On April 23, 1949 she was united in marriage to Clyde Crass at St. Martin’s Church in Fillmore.
Together they raised three children. Lucille was a devoted mother who also took many jobs to support the family.
A deep belief in God led her to be an active church member all her life, most recently at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. A truly wonderful “homemaker” she will be remembered for so many great recipes, including the prized family “kuchen” that no gathering was ever without.
A talented crafter, her memory will live on in the many treasures she leaves behind. An avid “sheepshead” player she always looked forward to the many card clubs, even as her eyesight dwindled, mostly for the friendships she loved. Most happy when surrounded by the extended family who all knew her as “Nanny”, Lucille was a caring, supportive guidepost in so many lives, a spirit that will be dearly missed by all those she touched.
Those Lucille leaves behind to cherish her memory include three children, Daniel (Ellen) Crass, Sandra Klein, and David (Frances) Crass; four grandchildren, Michael (Laura Garski) Crass, Heather (Mark) Balconi, Nicole Zane (Anthony), and Angela Habermann (Lance); Eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother Roman Puestow, a sister-in-law Carol (Paul) Schultz; a sister-in-law, Joyce Crass; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 68 years Clyde (Poppa), her parents, 6 brothers and 1 sister.
A memorial service in remembrance of Lucille will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First St., Kewaskum.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Elizabeth Residence for all their help and care.
