August 14, 2018 – Kewaskum, WI – Lisa A. Alexander, 53, of Kewaskum, WI passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI.
Lisa was born on September 29, 1964, the daughter of Stewart and Patricia (nee Watts) Gudmundsen. On June 16, 1990, she was united in marriage to Jon Alexander in Midland, Michigan. On December 2, 2017, Lisa and Jon were sealed as a family for time and all eternity in the Chicago LDS Temple.
Lisa received her BS in Education at Michigan State University and her Masters in Education from Central Michigan University. Her teaching career started in Midland MI and continued in Madison WI and West Bend WI School District as a special education teacher for 30 years. She impacted the lives of both students, parents and staff with her positive attitude and love for learning.
Outside of the classroom, Lisa was a devoted wife, mother and daughter. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family doing everything from water sports to family games. She always held a special place in her heart for traveling with her family and encouraging those around her to do something they were afraid of. She had a beautiful talent for playing the piano and loved to bake cookies at midnight. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed reading, playing games with them, and watching them grow. She had a firm testimony in the Gospel and found comfort in the knowledge that she has an eternal family and will be with them again.
Those Lisa leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Jon; four children, Kelcey (Danny) Dorzok of Stevens Point, WI, Brooke (Ben) McDaniel of Canton, MI, Jacob Alexander of Kewaskum, and Genna Alexander of Kewaskum, WI; three grandchildren, Anya and Ada Dorzok, and a McDaniel grandchild on the way; two brothers, Dennis (Lori) Gudmundsen and Gary (Sara) Gudmundsen; two sisters, Jenny (David) Griffes and Kirsten (Harry III) Peless; her parents, Stewart and Patricia Gudmundsen; her father-in-law, Howard Alexander; a brother-in-law, Aaron (Dora) Alexander; a sister-in-law, Victoria (Dennis) Brubaker; and many more relatives and friends.
