LaRene was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in the town of Jackson.  She enjoyed crafting, flower gardening, bird watching, bowling, spending time with family, visits to the casino, playing board games/cards and dining out weekly with friends and neighbors.  She loved spending her winters in Texas with Bill and their many winter-Texan friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Jody (Dean) Giacomini, and Janell (Paul) Vanderkin; five step-sons, Scot Soukup; Bill (Susan) Hardy, Jr., Thomas (Ellen) Hardy, Timothy (Tammy) Hardy, and David Hardy; two step-daughters, Mary (Tony) D’Andrea, and Judi (Alex) Mulkey; five grandchildren, Chad (Lauren) Giacomini, Danyel (Michael) McDonald, Brett (Shannon) Giacomini, Samantha (Dallin) Lee, and Nicholas Vanderkin; ten step-grandchildren, William III Jr., Amy, Shannon, Jacob, Maxwell, Abbey, Joshua, Chad, Hunter, Charlie; two step-great-grandchildren, Ellie and Daniel; a sister, LaVonne (Charles) Stull; two brothers, Gayland (the late Karen) Snorek and Gordon (Diane) Snorek; nieces, nephews, many other wonderful relatives and close personal friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Snorek, her mother, Florence Brockman; her step-father, Lawrence Brockman; and a step-son, Rod Soukup.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, August 12 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church (2881 Division Road, Jackson) with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 6:00 p.m.  A dinner will follow the service in the church hall.  Private entombment will be held on Saturday morning at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Special thanks to Dr. Mooney, Dr. Johnstone and their staff at the Kraemer Cancer Center, Virginia Highlands Rehab, and the Kathy Hospice nursing staff.

Words cannot express our gratitude for Pastor Paul Mittermaier of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jackson for his endearing love and support towards Bill and LaRene for these many years.  God’s blessings and many thanks to Pastor Paul for his recognition of special timing with “spiritual nudges.”
