LaRene “Rene” Hardy, age 73, of West Bend, found peace Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Kathy Hospice in West Bend.
She was born on December 9, 1942 in Reedsburg and she graduated from Elroy Royal High School. LaRene was previously married to James Bloor and later to Dale Soukup. In 1985 she married William “Bill” Hardy. Bill and LaRene then moved to Lake Camelot in the town of Rome in 1991, after retirement. Later they moved to West Bend and she provided unwavering and devoted care to Bill for many years.
LaRene was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in the town of Jackson. She enjoyed crafting, flower gardening, bird watching, bowling, spending time with family, visits to the casino, playing board games/cards and dining out weekly with friends and neighbors. She loved spending her winters in Texas with Bill and their many winter-Texan friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Jody (Dean) Giacomini, and Janell (Paul) Vanderkin; five step-sons, Scot Soukup; Bill (Susan) Hardy, Jr., Thomas (Ellen) Hardy, Timothy (Tammy) Hardy, and David Hardy; two step-daughters, Mary (Tony) D’Andrea, and Judi (Alex) Mulkey; five grandchildren, Chad (Lauren) Giacomini, Danyel (Michael) McDonald, Brett (Shannon) Giacomini, Samantha (Dallin) Lee, and Nicholas Vanderkin; ten step-grandchildren, William III Jr., Amy, Shannon, Jacob, Maxwell, Abbey, Joshua, Chad, Hunter, Charlie; two step-great-grandchildren, Ellie and Daniel; a sister, LaVonne (Charles) Stull; two brothers, Gayland (the late Karen) Snorek and Gordon (Diane) Snorek; nieces, nephews, many other wonderful relatives and close personal friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Snorek, her mother, Florence Brockman; her step-father, Lawrence Brockman; and a step-son, Rod Soukup.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, August 12 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church (2881 Division Road, Jackson) with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 6:00 p.m. A dinner will follow the service in the church hall. Private entombment will be held on Saturday morning at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
