Obit: Kathleen E. “Kathy” Wagner, 68, of the town Farmington

 

Dec. 3, 2017 – Town of Farmington, WI – Kathleen E. “Kathy” Wagner, 68, of the town Farmington, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Kathy Hospice, with her family at her side, after a long battle with cancer.

 

Kathy was born on July 12, 1949, in West Bend, the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Cyrilla (Vogt) Thull. On July 7, 1973, she was united in marriage to David J. Wagner at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels.

 

Kathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She always thought of her family before herself. Kathy loved to have family and friends around her and would often host parties. She loved to watch her kids and grandkids in sports, concerts, and other events. Kathy enjoyed road trips with her husband to visit family and friends around the country.

 

Kathy was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she was an organist. She was also an organist at many other churches including Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. Kathy was a member of Bill Thull Recording Orchestra for many years. She was employed by St. Joseph’s Hospital pharmacy, West Bend Mutual, Cedar Lake Home, and Cousins Subs Corporate.

 

Those Kathy leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, David; four children, Deanna (Roger) Schmidt, Julie (Dave) Steger, Nicholas Wagner all of West Bend, and Joyce (Brady) Bailo of Winter Park, Florida; five grandchildren, Vanessa Schwake, Jillian Schwake, Rodee Schmidt, Jonathan Steger, and Dillan Steger; four siblings, Michael (Connie) Thull and Ralph (Mary Lou) Thull both of Kewaskum, Eileen (Robert) Kuether of Manitowoc, and Denis (Wendy) Thull of Kewaskum; three brothers-in-law, Daniel “Junior” (MaryAnn) Wagner of Ashford, Dennis (Jackie) Wagner of West Bend, and Dale (Mary) Wagner of Krakow; three sisters-in-law, Rosalyn (Remie) Plourde of Ellsworth, Geralyn (Larry) Unger and Marilyn (Sylvester) Stys both of West Bend; two aunts, Catherine (Jack) Weninger of Slinger and Ann Thill of Kewaskum; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Daniel and Rosemary Wagner.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 8883 Forest View Road, in Kewaskum.  Father Edwin Kornath will officiate and burial will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the parish cemetery.

 

Kathy’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family is appreciated to start a scholarship for music students in Kathy’s name.

 

The Wagner family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all the nurses and caregivers at Kathy Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. Kathy was very thankful to all her family and friends who came to support her during her battle with cancer. She will be remembered for her never give up attitude and strength.
