Obit: John Paul Walter, 75, of Campbellsport

Feb. 26, 2018 – Campbellsport, WI – John Paul Walter, of Campbellsport, WI passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Feb.24, 2018 at the age of 75. He was born in Hartford, WI to Clarence and Ella Walter on July 6, 1942.

John is survived by his wife, Sherry (nee Bonk) of 20 years, daughters Michele (Dale) Schmitt, Liza Walter, Janine (Mike) Stolpa and son Jonathan (Jennifer) Walter. He is also survived by his sister Elaine (Peter) Strupp; brother Mark (Karen) Walter; brother-in-law Richard Keener; siblings-in-law, Robert Buch, Thomas (Judy) Bonk, and Karen (Lee) Wittmus. John was very proud of his grandchildren, Alyssa, Brad, Nathan Schmitt, Collin, Maggie, Rebeccah Stolpa and Christian Walter. He is furthered survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith (Zuern) Walter, parents, sisters Rosalie (Robert) Buch and Mary Keener, brother-in-law Donald Zuern and sister-in-law Marilyn Zuern, niece Kay Zuern, mothers- and fathers-in-law, Chester and Margaret Bonk, Louis and Irene Zuern.

 

 

 

 

 

John was an avid outdoorsman and his passion for hunting and fishing created a lifetime of laughter and memories with his dearest friends and family. He loved to roam the wilderness of the north woods. In his retirement he enjoyed working on his hobby farm, tending to the animals, and watching the sunset with his wife. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will take place from 3-7:00 PM on Thursday, March 1st at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 West Paradise Drive, West Bend). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 2nd at Resurrection Parish in Allenton (215 Main St, Allenton, WI 53002) A private burial will follow.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Generations Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of John.
