Obit: Herbert M. Huebner, Jr. 89, Cedarburg

Mr. Herbert Huebner, of Western Road in Cedarburg, passed away Sunday morning, August 7, 2016 at Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg. He was 89 years old. Herbert was born November 27, 1926 in Cedarburg, the son of Herbert Sr. and Helen (nee Scheer) Huebner. After graduating from Cedarburg High School, Herbert went on to serve his country in the United States Army.

On September 10, 1950, he was united in marriage with Verna Frenzel. Verna preceded him in death in 2011 after 60 years of marriage.

Mr. Huebner was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. For 72 years, he was a proud and dedicated member of the American Legion Peter Wollner Post #288 in Cedarburg. Herbert enjoyed helping people and socializing.

Herbert is survived by 6 children: Wally Huebner of Thiensville, Debbie Meeker of Grafton, Sheryl Huebner of Grafton, Herbie Huebner of Cedarburg, Russ (Peggy) Huebner of Menomonee Falls and David (Kim) Huebner of Grafton. He is further survived by grandchildren: Michelle (Chad) Kloss, Kimberly Meeker (Dennis), Tasha (Chris) Janssen, Greg Heise, Regina Huebner, Nick (Megan) and Ami Shodeen; 7 great-grandchildren, siblings Bertha Surges of Fredonia, Walter Huebner of Grafton, Helen (Lloyd) Isaacson of Tomahawk and Marilyn Zulka of Cedarburg, brother-in-law Lester “Uncle Orville” Frenzel of Medford, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son Richard Huebner, daughter-in-law Christine Huebner and brother Wilbur Huebner.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30PM on Friday, August 12 at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave. in Cedarburg with Pastor Janis Kinens officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 11:30-1:30PM. He will be laid to rest at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg beside his wife Verna with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Legion Peter Wollner Post #288.
