Obit: Henry “Hank” Orth, 79

Henry “Hank” A. Orth, 79, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

Henry was born in Milwaukee on June 12, 1936 to the late Philip, Sr. and Margaret (nee Lang) Orth.  On June 29, 1957 he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Morris in Milwaukee.

After graduation from Boy’s Tech he served in the U.S. Army Reserves Signal Corp. from 1955-62.  His first job was at Cutler-Hammer as a Methods Lab Technician.  He became a Journeyman Machinist at Silgan Containers in Menomonee Falls where he worked for over 30 yrs. until retiring in 1998.  He always loved tinkering with mechanical things and could fix anything.  Henry loved going to auctions and was in the antique business with booths in antique malls in Beaver Dam and Kewaskum.

He will be fondly remembered by his children, nieces and nephews for his tractor and trailer rides over the countryside and shooting off bottle-rockets at family parties.    Camping all over the country was a favorite summer past time when the children were growing up.  He and his wife also did a lot of traveling at home and abroad.

Henry is survived by his loving wife and children:  Gregory (Debra), Lisa (Craig) Hesse, and Melanie (John) Farrell and grandchildren:  Stephanie, Craig Jr., Andrew, Alexander, Kiley and Olivia.  He is further survived by three brothers: Philip, Jr., Texas; John (the late Mary), Nevada; Nick (Joan) of Hartford; half-brother, the late Raymond; sisters-in-law Sharon (the late Eugene) Orth, Sandra (the late Daniel) Orth, Roberta (Robert) Cruff and Barbara Morris.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Henry will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Jeffrey Hesse officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00p.m.

Private inurnment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in spring.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Trees From Home, Inc., 2130 W. Brantwood Ave., Glendale, WI 53209-3414 would be appreciated. TFH is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization.
