Jan. 2, 2017 – Slinger, WI – Helen M. Yordi, nee Rank died on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Serenity Villa in Slinger at the age of 85 years. She was born on September 6, 1931 in Phlox, WI to the late Anton and Regina (nee Bolle) Rank.
Helen was a woman of strong faith who loved her family and friends. She held a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Silver Lake College and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Mt. Mary College.
On April 15, 1972, she was united in marriage to Gary Yordi at Holy Redeemer Church in Milwaukee.
Upon retiring after her 28 years of employment at Marquette Electronics, she enjoyed participating in a variety of ministries at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish and volunteering at Lac Lawrann Conservancy.
Survivors include her husband Gary; 4 sisters Carol Hvizdak of Plover, Sr. Georgiana Rank of Manitowoc, Patricia (William) Pollack of Manitiwoc and Mary Jo (David) Van Ells of Manitowoc; 1 brother Anthony (Glenda) Rank of Mississippi; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers Leander (Delores) Rank and George Rank , 1 brother-in-law Andrew Hvizdak and her mother-in-law Boni Yordi.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to Lac Lawrann Conservancy or St. Frances Cabrini Parish.
