Harold J. Hefter, 86, left this world but not our hearts on January 25, 2016. He was born on June 19, 1929 to Fridolin and Frances (nee Koll) Hefter. He married Shirley (nee Noegel) on May 17, 1952.
Harold served on the Board of Directors for the Associated Bank of Slinger, formerly
F & M, and the Slinger School Board. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Council and Slinger Rotary where he earned the Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was Chairman of the Town of Addison and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1964. Harold was a member of the Allenton Area Advancement Association where he was instrumental in co-founding the annual Buffalo Feed and served as an honorary member of the Allenton Fire Department.
He was co-owner of the St. Lawrence Garage Farm Implement dealership for 28 years. In his retirement, developing farmland into the Wildlife, Meadowood and Whispering Pines subdivisions became one of his proudest accomplishments.
Harold is the loving husband of Shirley; dear father of Cheryl (Tom) Hauser, Jean (Mick) Stopar, Gail Hoff and Alan (Juliene) Hefter; beloved grandfather of Michael and Elizabeth Hauser; special friend of Klaus Hoff; brother of Kenneth Hefter, Eugene (Ann) Hefter; and brother-in-law of Russell Noegel. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Joseph (Elayne) Hefter; sister-in-law Florence Hefter; brother-in-law Deril Noegel; and two nephews Steven Hefter and Randy Noegel.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend) with Fr. Enrique Hernandez presiding. The Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 29th from 2:00 PM until 5:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to: School Sisters of St. Francis (1515 S Layton Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53215) or Allenton Volunteer Fire Department (431 Railroad St, Allenton, WI 53002).
