Gertrude M. Marx, 95, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Kettle Moraine Gardens, surrounded by her loving family.
Gertrude was born on September 17, 1920, the daughter of the late Jacob and Gertrude (Marx) Theusch. On July 6, 1948, she was united in marriage to Joseph Marx at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Joseph preceded Gertrude in death on September 27, 2011.
Gertrude was a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels where she was a member of the Christian Women’s Sodality. She loved playing cards, bowling and crocheting. Gertrude enjoyed researching her genealogy. She was an avid Packer and Brewer fan.
Those Gertrude leaves behind to cherish her memory are four sons, Gerald (Patricia) Marx, Daniel (June) Marx, Gary (Jane) Marx and Robert Marx; seven grandchildren, Kim, James, Jack, Joseph, Anne, Mary and Megan Marx; 2 great-grandchildren, Devin and Addison; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline Lubijewski, Lorraine Herriges, and Rose Hausmann and five brothers, Raynor, Lawrence, Albert, Gregory, and Leonard Theusch.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 8881 Forest View Road in St. Michaels. Father Edwin Kornath will officiate and burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday in the parish cemetery.
Gertrude’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the We Believe Campaign are appreciated.
