August 23, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Florence Willey (nee Lammers), age 86 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Appleton, WI. She was born in Milwaukee on September 6, 1930 to Henry and Viola (nee DuMay) Lamers.
Florence married Robert E. “Bob” Willey in June 26, 1954 in Milwaukee and moved to West Bend in 1964. She worked in various accounting positions including WBKV Radio in West Bend. Florence loved her vegetable garden along with canning the vegetables.
She also treasured being a wife, mother and grandmother that will provide many years of fond memories. Florence was the treasurer at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church of West Bend and a PTA member of St. John’s Lutheran Grade School of West Bend.
Florence is survived by her 2 children, Kevin (Mary “Beth”) of Oshkosh and Colleen (David) Lemke of Menasha; 7 grandchildren, Eric (Emily) Willey, Jessica (Gregory) Strike, Matthew (Cindy) Willey, Stephanie (Alex) Bain, Nicole (Christopher “Mino”) Johnson, Bryn LaRue, Alyssa LaRue; great-grandchildren Melody and Vivian Strike, Jackson and Samantha Willey, Avery and Lukas Johnson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Willey, son Scott Willey, daughter Cindy LaRue, siblings Audrey (Donald) Klienke, Rae (Gordy) Bomey, Joyce Butler.
A Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church (777 S. Indiana Ave. West Bend, 53095) with Rev. Robert Hein presiding. Visitation will be at church on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM. Entombment to follow at Washington County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to WELS World Missions or WELS Christian Aid and Relief.
