Ellis R. Krell age 70 of West Bend died unexpectedly on Friday, February 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born June 5, 1945 in Newburg to Sylvester and Dorothy (nee Monday) Krell.
Ellis proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Following his Honorable Discharge he returned to work at the West Bend Company until retiring in 2000. In retirement he enjoyed golfing and working at West Bend Lakes Golf Club. He also enjoyed cooking, hunting and drawing.
He was a long time member and treasurer of the Newburg Lions Club.
Ellis is survived by his former spouse and dear friend Jean Krell of West Bend, 2 sons: Tim (girlfriend Sarah Ingle) Krell of West Bend and Colonel Kerry Krell of Bristol and 1 grandson Brodie Krell. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Judy Krell, his brother-in-law Don Smith and his former sister-in-law Jackie Krell-Stumpf, nieces and nephews: Jason Krell, Amy Bova, Greta Arndt, Marla Krell-Arundel, Clinton Krell, Sara Baker and Ryan Smith and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sylvester and Dorothy Krell and 3 siblings Roger Krell, Ronnie Krell and Mary Rose Smith.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with Rev. Kevin Kowalske officiating. Inurnment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Newburg at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Freedom Park Veterans Memorial in Newburg are appreciated.
