Obit: Edna E. Reysen, 101, formerly of Adell

Edna E. Reysen, 101, formerly of Adell, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the Waterford of Plymouth.

Edna was born on September 26, 1914, in the town of Scott, to the late Emil and Emilie (Schultz) Gessner. On April 3, 1938, she was united in marriage to Ray Reysen at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane. Ray preceded Edna in death on July 4, 1986.

Edna was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Fane. Edna and Ray farmed for many years in the town of Auburn before moving to Adell. She was then employed by

Those Edna leaves behind to cherish her memories include five children, Marleen Heberer (special friend, Jim Vetter) of New Fane, Mardell (James) Schulz of Random Lake, Russell Reysen of Silver Creek, Mary Jane (George) Klein of Adell and Raylene (Steve) Justinger of Waldo; 10 grandchildren, Donna (Jan) Borgwardt, Dennis Schulz, Michael Miske, Michelle Meissner, Mark (Val) O’Loughlin, Angie Klein, Brad (Niki) Klein, Kimberly (Shaun) Thome, Paul (Sara) Reysen, and Rhonda (Marc) Beal; 15 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Edna was preceded in death by, an infant son, Myron Reysen; three son-in-laws, Ira Heberer, Steve O’Loughlin, and Kermit Miske Jr.; a twin sister, Ella Gessner; three brothers, Alfred Gessner, Edwin (Irene) Gessner, and William Gessner.

Funeral services for Edna will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, N683 County Road S, in New Fane. Rev. Mark Eckert will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Edna’s family will greet relatives and friends at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
