Obit: Doris M. Wesenberg, 89, of Kewaskum

Sept. 7, 2018 – Kewaskum, WI – Doris M. Wesenberg, 89, of Kewaskum, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.

 

Doris was born on February 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Paul and Bernice (nee Baumhardt) Hoffman. She was united in marriage to Fred Wesenberg Sr. at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Fred preceded Doris in death on February 15, 2001.

 

Doris was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum where she was a charter member of the St. Lucas Ladies guild and was on the funeral committee. She was employed by Regalware for 28 years and was a member of the 25 Year Club. Doris enjoyed trying out new recipes, canning, sewing, gardening, and was a shortstop on a ladies softball league.

 

 

 

Those Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory include two children, Fred Jr. (Kathy) Wesenberg of Eden and Carole Heberer (special friend, Pete) of Kewaskum; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; three sisters, Shirley Adkins, Dorothy Westover, and Alice Hoffman; a brother, Paul Hoffman; other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by three children, Thomas Wesenberg, Pamela and Patricia Wesenberg; two sisters, Violet Zimmerman and Betty Giese.

 

A funeral service for Doris will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive, in Kewaskum. Rev. James Hoogervorst will officiate and burial will follow at Lutheran Memorial Park.

 

Doris’ family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

 

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Doris’ arrangements.
