Doris A. Gerlach, 87, of West Bend, was called home by the Lord’s infinite wisdom to her eternal home on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Waterford in West Bend.
Doris was born on September 2, 1928, in the Town of Polk, daughter of the late Louis and Adela (nee Templemann) Fick. The family moved to West Bend and became members of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend and she was confirmed on April 18, 1943. On June 4, 1949, Doris was united in marriage to Glenn C. Gerlach at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Together they became members of St. John’s Lutheran in Newburg. Glenn preceded Doris in death on September 30, 2014. Doris will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Those Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory include four daughters, Diane (Steve) Wallendal, Sandy (Gordy) Haeuser, Cheryl (Tom) Goeke and Barbara (Todd) Roy; nine grandchildren, Jeremy (Lisa) Gerlach, Cara (Clint) Anawenter, Randall (Jaclyn), Russell (Sara) and Ryan Haeuser, Amanda (Keith) Pfeiffer, Ben Struebing, Tanya Miske and Michael Roy; 10 great-grandchildren, Jack and Alexis Gerlach, Thomas, Connor and Olivia Haeuser, Cadence and Grace Haeuser, Elliot Anawenter, Blake Struebing; four step-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Eugene Gerlach, William Faber and Wilmer Ehlke; four sisters-in-law, Jeanice Gerlach, Joyce Gerlach, Sharon Gerlach and Marjorie Fick, many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and loving husband of 65 years Glenn, Doris was preceded in death by an infant son, Walter Gerlach; a grandson, Thomas G. Haeuser; three siblings, Raymond Fick, Donald Fick and Florence Ehlke; four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law, other family members and friends.
A Funeral Service for Doris will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 623 Congress St. in Newburg. Rev. Kurt Schaser will officiate and interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
