Obit: Dolores Faber, 84, West Bend

Oct. 22, 2016 – West Bend, WI – Dolores F. Faber, age 84, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016.  She was born in West Bend on January 3, 1932 to Norman Sr. and Gertrude (nee Allarding) Jacklin. She married James Schlosser in 1961 and had three loving children.  James passed away in 2007.  Dolores worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Samaritan Home for many years in housekeeping.

Dolores had a real zest for life. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She loved gardening and flowers, especially her red geraniums and petunias.  Dolores was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to the casino and scratching lottery tickets.  She was a great cook and always had family and friends over for social gatherings. Her house was the place to be! She loved the sunshine and was always outside working on her tan.

Later in life, she married Leroy “Red” Faber.  They enjoyed many happy years together until he passed away in 1999.  Dolores still had her zest for life and was very young at heart.  She then met her special friend, Herb Schwictenberg.  They enjoyed each other’s company for many years.

She is survived by her children, Linda Simon of West Bend, Brenda (John) Gaddis of Milton, Indiana, David (Tricia) Schlosser of West Bend; grandchildren, Jennifer Schlosser of West Bend, Jesse Scholze (Stephanie Jacobs) of Juneau, John Gaddis Jr. of Milton, Indiana, James Schlosser of West Bend, Maddy Schlosser of West Bend; great-grandson Gavin Jacobs of Juneau; step-grandchildren, Brittany, Brianna, and Victoria Jarowsky, Jonathon Baker; step-great-grandchildren, Colton and Isla Jarowsky and Eli Bruce; sisters, Carol (Marvin) Ruplinger of West Bend and Fay (Chase) Giese of Theresa; and sister-in-law Rita Jacklin of West Bend.  She is further survived by her special friend, Herb Schwictenberg, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband Leroy “Red” Faber, parents, brothers Ralph Jacklin and Norman Jacklin Jr., and her nephew Michael Ruplinger.

The Memorial Service will be on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend).  The Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 24th from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.

 

 

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Gary Herdrich, the wonderful nurses and staff at Kathy Hospice, the staff at Ivy Manor and Patty Loomans who cared for their mom the last six months. She was a great cook and always had family and friends over for social gatherings. Her house was the place to be! She loved the sunshine and was always outside working on her tan.
