Feb. 8, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Dolores “Dee Dee” J. Peters (nee Volz), 83, of West Bend, found peace on Monday, February 06, 2017 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
She was born on July 12, 1933 to the late Joseph and Martha (nee Buslaff) Volz in Campbellsport. She attended St Matthew’s Catholic School and graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1951. Moved to West Bend and worked as a receptionist at Frankow-Grundahl Clinic later called Oakview Clinic. On August 6, 1955 she was united in marriage to John S. Peters at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Campbellsport. She and John raised their three children. Dolores later worked as a cashier at Bob Fish. She also worked at Hankerson’s bakery before ending her service career at Decorah Animal Hospital. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed competing in the state tournament. Dolores liked going fishing, camping, and to the cottage. Dolores especially enjoyed spending time with all her family. Dee Dee also known as Mootie, will be missed by all who knew her.
Those Dolores leaves behind to cherish her memories include her three children, Debra (David) Spang of Stevens Point, Beth (David) Ehlers of Random Lake, and Roger (Ann) Peters of Campbellsport; five grandchildren, Katie (Rick) Campbell, Jeri Riner, Vanessa (Nate) Werner, Andy (Christy Kusko) Peters, and Lauren (Fiancé Mike Dewitz) Peters; four great-grandchildren, Tristan Riner, Bennett Werner, Killian Campbell, and Flynn Campbell; a brother, Donald “Tiger” Volz; a brother-in-law, Allen (Barbara) Peters; a sister-in-law, Deanna Volz; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John S. Peters; a sister, Bernice Karoses; and a brother, Joseph “Sonny” Volz Jr.
A Memorial Mass in remembrance of Dolores will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 4 p.m.at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. 7th Ave., West Bend. Burial will be at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.
Memorials in Dolores’ name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Frances Cabrini School in lieu of flowers is appreciated by the family.
