Obit: Dennis H. “Skip” Smith, 61, West Bend

Dennis H. “Skip” Smith, 61, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Skip was born on September 25, 1954, in West Bend, the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Becker) Smith. On September 13, 1998, he was united in marriage to Joanne “Jojo” Westerman in West Bend.

Skip was employed at Complete Warehousing as an operations manager. He was an avid fisherman and Green Bay Packer Fan and was the life of a party.

Those Skip leaves behind to cherish his memories include his loving wife and caretaker, Joanne; a brother, Donald “Donny” Smith of West Bend; a sister, Sharon (Rick) Jackobi of Mercer; three sisters-in-law, Linda (Robert Jr.) Smith of Texas, Judy and Jane both of West Bend; two brothers-in-law, Steve and Mike both of West Bend; his parents-in-law, Richard and Angie Westerman of West Bend; a close family friend, Don Krebs of Fort Atkinson; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Skip was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Smith Jr. and a sister-in-law, Mary Smith.

A funeral service for Skip will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend. Father Pat Heppe will officiate and cremation will follow the traditional service.

Skip’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Visitation will continue after the service from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

In celebration of Skip’s life, please wear your favorite Green Bay Packer gear.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Heartland Hospice of Milwaukee, Jackie, Katie, Gypsie, and Marci for the care provided to Skip.
