Obit: Delores Mae Bahr (nee Ziehl), 82, of West Bend. Delores spent years working in the manufacturing industry. We will always remember the strong work ethic our mother instilled in us

Jan. 6, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Delores Mae Bahr (nee Ziehl) age 82 of West Bend passed away peacefully after enduring a courageous eight year battle with Alzheimer’s on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Kathy Hospice. She was born February 17, 1934 in Forest Junction, WI to Walter and Lydia Ziehl.

Delores was a devoted single mother of four. She spent numerous years working in the manufacturing industry. We will always remember the strong work ethic our mother instilled in all of us, which was just one of her many amazing qualities.

Delores resided in West Bend for the past 42 years. She was a caretaker for her mother for 22 years. For the last 5 years she resided at Kettle Moraine Gardens Memory Care Building in Kewaskum.

Some of her favorite pastimes were her love of reading and taking long walks. She also enjoyed the companionship of her dog Madison.

Delores is survived by her four children: Rick (Beverly) Bahr, Patrice (Thomas) Kreis, Cheryl (Gary) Shearier and April (David) Fellenz and seven grandchildren: Christina, Matthew, Brandon, Ryan, Genevieve, Gabrielle and Harrison. She is further survived by her three great-grandchildren: Grace, Stella and Mason and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lydia Ziehl and her brother Walter Jr.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. The family will greet visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and Kathy Hospice.

The Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend is serving the family.
