Dean Darwin Weasler, of West Bend, entered eternal rest with his Heavenly Father, age 92, on July 23, 2016. He had been hospitalized at Aurora Hospital in Grafton and was currently at the Cedar Lake Campus, Countryside in West Bend. Dean was born November 7, 1923 the son of Joseph and Polly (nee Warden) in Waldo, Wisconsin.
He married the late Ruth Stafford who passed away in 1981. On October 15, 1983, Dean married Margaret (nee Budsberg) Oelhafen at the Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend. Margaret passed away on August 2, 2012.
Dean served his country in the US Army from 1944-1946 and was stationed in the Philippines. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Ozaukee and Washington County Carpenters Union Local 2283 for over 50 years. He was employed by many local companies and Joseph P. Jansen Construction Company of Milwaukee, and was part of the construction crew that built the Mayfair Towers in Wauwatosa. Dean also built a home for him and his wife and helped many people with carpentry work. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed the sport for many years.
He was a member of 5th Avenue United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He was a loving husband and had a kind and gentle spirit and loved the Lord.
Dean was one of 14 children and is survived by his sister, Lillian (Weasler) Kritz, West Bend, sister-in-law, Janet (the late Edwin) Weasler, West Bend, two stepsons Todd Olson (Kimberly Monge) Palm Harbor, FL, Vance (Bonnie) Olson of Iola, WI; step-grandchildren Adam Olson, Jessica (Darren) Kirby, Traci (Bruce) Scholze, Gaye Olson-Christianson; former step-daughter Bonnie McFarlin and many nieces, nephews and his best friend and caretaker, Chris Clavette of West Bend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, two stepsons Larry and Steven Olson and 12 siblings.
The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend) with Pastor Clarissa Martinelli presiding. The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 29th from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Women’s Organization.
