Obit: Daniel J. “Jocko” Marx, 65, Kewaskum

Daniel J. “Jocko” Marx, 65, of the town of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the Kathy Hospice, with his family by his side.

Dan was born on March 20, 1951 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Theusch) Marx. On October 24, 1992 he was united in marriage to June Petermann at St. John of God Catholic Church in the town of Farmington.

Dan was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. He graduated from St. Michaels Catholic School, Kewaskum High School, and then received his Bachelor of Science Degree at UW-Milwaukee. After earning his degree, Dan was employed by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department for 35 years, retiring in 2013. Dan enjoyed playing softball, golf, and was an avid Badger and Packer fan. He was also a member of the Monday Night Club.

Those Dan leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, June; a daughter, Megan Marx; three brothers, Gerald (Patricia) Marx, Gary (Jane) Marx and Robert Marx; two brothers-in-law, Jeff (Tammy) Petermann and Jay (Lori) Petermann; two sister-in-law, Jill (Dan) Steffes and Joan (Blair) Hall; 19 nieces and nephews; his faithful companion, Bruno and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Ron and Sharon Petermann.

A Memorial Mass for Dan will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 8881 Forest View Road in St. Michaels with Father Edwin Kornath officiating.

Dan’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the KEYS Club or the Kewaskum Athletic Association are appreciated.
