Jan. 1, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Conrad H. House, 81, of West Bend, Wisconsin died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend. He was born May 2, 1936 in Malvern, AR to Tuney and Catherine (nee Helm) Bailey.
At a young age he was adopted by his mother’s second husband, John House.
Conrad was united in marriage to Harriet L. Gerber (nee Ocker) on February 14, 1991 in North Pole Alaska.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator in Alaska. The last five years, before his retirement, he worked for the DEW line (Distant Early Warning System). Following his retirement, Conrad and Harriet enjoyed traveling the country in their RV.
Conrad is survived by his wife of 26 years, Harriet, his son Glen (Betsy) Gerber of West Bend, 4 grandchildren: Amanda (Andy) Seil, Anne (Jesse) Klein, Katie (Dan) Frakes and Casey Gerber plus 3 great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Wayland and Oliver. Conrad is further survived by his 2 brothers: Tuney (Peggy) Bailey Jr. and Rick (Linda) Bailey, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Donald (Arlene) Ocker, Ronald (Carol) Ocker and Gary (Janice) Ocker and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will take place for the family.
