Oct. 4, 2017 – Hartford, WI – Clarence “Schemy” M. Schemenauer Jr., age 69, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. He was born on October 25, 1947 in Hartford to Clarence and Lucille (nee Peters) Schemenauer Sr. He grew up in Hartford and graduated Slinger High School in 1965.
Schemy owned and operated Schemenauer Plumbing & Heating and also owned Karen – Schemy’s Bar. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for over 50 years and St. Lawrence Fire Dept. from 1966 – 1990 and was fireman of the year in 1978. He enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling and loved John Wayne.
Clarence is survived by his siblings Eileen (Norvin) Lehman, Joe (Barbara) and Dianne (Ralph) Wiedmeyer. He is further survived by his godson Steve (Jenny) Lehman, nieces and nephews Randall and Steve Schemenauer of Hartford, Lori and Michele Lehman, Timothy Wiedmeyer, Wendy (Geoff) Greysen, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents and wife Karen.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at St. John United Church of Christ (520 W Washington St., Slinger) with Pastor Jim Schleif presiding. Visitation will be at the church only on Sunday, October 8, from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm, Moose Lodge Service at 1:30 pm followed by St. Lawrence Fire Department Service then Memorial Service. Interment of remains will take place on Monday, October 9, at 10:00 am at Washington County Memorial Park.
