Obit: Bob Hartfield, 81, of Richfield

Nov. 14, 2017 – Richfield, WI – On Saturday, Nov. 11 Bob Hartfield rode into the heavens and God’s light.  For 28 years he was the incredibly loving and loved husband of Susan Stehling Hartfield.
Supportive, loving father of Laura, David and Jonathon as well as their spouses and beautiful children. His brothers Tom, George and sister Irene along with their spouses meant the world to him.
Bob was bigger than life to most who knew him.  He had great mechanical skills, common sense and more thinking outside the box capacity than most.  From Air Force flight mechanic at age 19, to private pilot at age 50, lifetime Harley rider, fisherman, nature and animal lover and classic 1956 Ford Pickup truck owner, Bob enjoyed it all.
His last career as Owner and Horse trainer at Hillside Farm in Richfield for 35 years was his proudest accomplishment.  He always said after buying the place in 1969 he “never worked another day in his life.”
He loved the animals, the people, the challenge, the success and the camaraderie. He never gave up on a task or a person. His heart was as big as his voice and he touched so many hearts.
He always did his best but cancer took his life in just 4 weeks.
Thank you to our “old” friends and family for celebrating his life and all the good times with him at the Maurin Center just one short week ago.
Thanks to Kathy Hospice for giving him peace and comfort his last day.
Mostly, thank God for giving us this unbelievable man for 81 years.  We will love him and feel his love forever.
Memorials to your favorite dog rescue or Kathy Hospice.
