Obit: Beatrice “Betty” A. Covill, 91

Beatrice “Betty” A. Covill, (nee Blood), 91, of West Bend, passed away on February 11, 2016 at the Waterford Assisted Living Facility, West Bend.

She was born on December 20, 1924 to the late Calvin and Ina (nee Remer) Blood in Oshkosh, WI. Betty Attended Oshkosh high school and graduated in 1943. She sang in the choir at the Plymouth Congregational Church. She met the love of her life, Gordon Covill of Berlin, WI and when he completed his Navy service, they were married Sept 1, 1946 in the Plymouth Congregational Church in Oshkosh. They moved to Madison so Gordon could finish his Engineering degree. They moved to Sheboygan and then to West Bend where Gordon worked at the West Bend Company.

Betty worked for 15 years in the nursery department of St. Joseph’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church in West Bend. She enjoyed reading novels and dancing. Betty was gifted in decorating, working on most of the “Tour of Homes” sponsored by her church. She enjoyed Bridge and was a member of several clubs.

Those Betty leave behind to cherish her memories include her loving husband of 69 years, Gordon; two daughters, Linda (Gene) Elbe of Waukesha and Kaye (Paul) Robertell of Deltona, FL; two granddaughters, Rachel (David) Bauer of Waukesha and Samantha Robertell of Denver Colorado; three great grandchildren, Brooke Bauer, Courtney Bauer, and Ethan Bauer, all from Waukesha; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon Blood and Frank Blood; sister, Vivian Landig.

A memorial service honoring Betty will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. The Rev. Jeremy Deaner will officiate. Burial will be at a future date at the Welsh Cemetery in Berlin, WI.

Betty’s family will greet family and friends Friday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials to the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church or the Polio Foundation will be appreciated by the family.
