Barbara Ellen Scherwinski, (nee Zoesch) age 69 of Slinger, Wisconsin entered peacefully into God’s loving arms on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Neenah.
Barb was born on July 8, 1946 in Ashland, WI to Fred and Helen (nee Williams) Zoesch. Barb was united in marriage to Eugene Scherwinski on July 11, 1970 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Butternut.
Barb’s passion was spending time with her family especially her 6 grandchildren. She loved going out to eat with family and friends. She enjoyed golfing, knitting, gardening, reading, traveling, camping. Barb had a love for being on the beach and near any water. Barb volunteered at women’s shelters and at schools to help kids learn to read. She was active at her church Still Waters Church in Jackson. She was an inspiration to her daughters and entire family when she went back to college at the age of 39 years to get her Bachelor’s degree and her Master’s Degree from UW-Milwaukee in Social Work.
She is survived by her children, Angela (Ray) Pantazon of Oconomowoc, Beth Resch (fiancé, Rick Mosbacher) of Neenah, and Melissa (Scott) Roberts of Fond du Lac; proud and loving grandma to Mitchell and Jackson Resch, Alexander and Amelia Pantazon, and Evan and Brady Roberts; her siblings, Lorraine Furtak of Butternut, Ruth (Harvey) Bilz of Phillips, David (Joanne) Zoesch of Butternut, Bill (Bonnie) Zoesch of Butternut, Gary (Mary) Zoesch of Park Falls and John (Jeanne) Zoesch of Park Falls, her brothers-in-law, Howard (Judie), Jerome (Melvina), Glen (Joyce), Dennis (Mary), and Rodney (Marilyn) Scherwinski. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Barb is preceded in death by her Eugene who passed away on January 14 of this year, her parents, 3 sisters, Anita Altman, Dorothy Ford and Lois Stempinski, 3 brothers, Eugene, Paul and Fred Zoesch.
Funeral Services for Barbara will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Still Waters Church (3617 Scenic Road Jackson, WI 53037) with Pastor Matt Hadley officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. – until the 12:00 noon service.
