Adeline S. Zimmerman (nee Schmitz) age 97 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Serenity Villa Nursing Home in Slinger, WI.
Adeline was born on May 22, 1918 in Cold Spring, Minnesota to Valentine and Christine (nee Mueller) Schmitz. She was united in marriage to Leander Zimmerman at St. James Church in Jacobs Prairie.
Adeline was a longtime volunteer at St. Agnes church in Butler for the Altar society and at St. Camilla’s church guild. She enjoyed flower beds, playing cards, bowling and traveling, and spending the summer at Post Lake with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Sue (Rick) Dumproff of Hartford and Dale (Glenda) Zimmerman of Hazelhurst; grandchildren Glen (Jackie), Mark (Holly), Elly, Hannah (Zach) Belobraydich, and Wyatt; great grandchildren Maddie, Melanie, Mitchell, and Layne. Adeline is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Proceeded in death by her parents, her husband in 1977, her siblings Alvina, Raymond, Celina, Edward, and Martha.
Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 State St., Hartford, WI 53027) at 2:00p.m. With Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home on Thursday January 21, 2016 from 12:00-1:30p.m.
Entombment in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI.
Adeline loved watching children’s events and seeing them go to and from the school across the street from her home, so memorials to St. Kilian grade school are greatly appreciated.
