June 19, 2018 – Kewaskum, WI – Vincent G. “Vince” Meyer, 59, of Kewaskum, was called to God on Monday, June 18, 2018, at Froedtert Hospital, with his family at his side.
Vince was born on March 11, 1959, in Port Washington, the son of Joseph and Carol (nee Dreps) Meyer. On June 25, 1983, he was united in marriage to Jane Degnitz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Kohler.
As a young man Vince enjoyed working on the family farm. Throughout Vince’s career he worked in the mechanical field. He loved the challenge of troubleshooting what others couldn’t figure out.
His family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed family vacations and gatherings, babysitting his grandchildren and unplanned lengthy phone calls. He was a skilled carpenter and excelled in woodworking. His hobbies also included gardening, canning, Harley riding, Sheepshead and above all helping others. He had a deep faith with the Lord and prayed to the Mother Mary daily.
Those Vince leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Jane; three children, Heather (David) Lettow of Kewaskum, Joshua Meyer (Danielle Dreher) of Fillmore, and Rachel (Chris) Bauer of Kohlsville; five grandchildren, Hadlee, Holden, and Hope Lettow, Austin Kedinger, and Levi Bauer; his mother, Carol Meyer of Fredonia; three brothers, Nic (Jean) Meyer, Bern (Linda) Meyer, and Andy Meyer; three sisters, Rita (Ron) Wiedmeyer, Dorothy (Gary) Langenecker, and Judy (Ron) Bauer; a brother-in-law, Carl (Judy) Degnitz; two sisters-in-law, Mary Carol (Bob) Shoemaker and Bev Zimdars; other relatives and friends.
Vince was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Meyer and his parents-in-law, Merlin and Margie Degnitz.
A memorial mass for Vince will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 8883 Forest View Road, Kewaskum (St. Michael’s). Father Jacob Strand will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Vince’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Sunday from Noon until the time of Mass.
