July 16, 2018 – Jackson, WI – Roland “Rollie” W. Nack, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend. He was born on March 10, 1933 in Milwaukee to the late Max and Josephine (nee Fleck) Nack.
Rollie had a great passion for his country. He was a CPL in the US Army. Rollie was a member of the American Legion #486 Jackson. He loved camping, woodworking, gardening, cooking, especially stew for camping. Rollie was an active member of Still Waters United Methodist Church in Jackson and was instrumental in helping in the construction of the new church. His children called him the “wood-wizard” as he remodeled everyone’s homes and cabins. Rollie was an accomplished artist and his beautiful paintings adorn his childrens’ homes.
He was a larger-than-life-man, always thinking about how to make others feel special. Rollie was an awesome dad and grandfather, a true treasure that will be greatly missed.
Rollie is survived by his children, Judith (George) Stippich, Linda (Bob) Miller, Barbara (Joe) Dolan, Anthony (Kathy) Nack, Peter Nack, Tracy (Steve Burdick) Thomas, William Drost; grandchildren, Jason (Jenny) Otto, Kristie (Jeremy) Buss, Jamie (Tim) Boehm, Sara (Brian) Young, Lindsay Nack, Brad (Kristin) Miller, Kimberly (Jon) Gloege, Amanda Nack, Aaron Drost, Brandon Dolan, Jared Dolan, Julie (Brandon) Sarge; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, JoAnn O’Brien, Rita Bert and sister-in-law, Harlene (Dennis) Tronca. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
Rollie is preceded in death by his loving wife Harriett, his daughter Kathleen Ann Nack, son Steven Roland Nack and first wife Irene Nack.
A Funeral Service will be at 7:00PM on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend, WI 53095) with Pastor Lori Lossie. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, July 19, 2018 from 4:00PM until 6:45PM. The American Legion Post #486 Jackson will do a walk-thru just prior to the 7:00PM service with Military Honors to follow service. Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery.
