Notice of Spring Election | Seats in Washington County up for election in April 2025

West Bend/Hartford, WI – Tuesday, April 1, 2025, is the Spring Election Day in Wisconsin. Nomination papers are now circulating for the Spring Election; the final day for filing nomination papers is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Obtain nomination papers at your local municipality clerk’s office.

In the City of West Bend the even numbered aldermanic districts are up for election; the seat carries a 2-year term.

District 2 – Mark Allen

District 4 – Matt Sternig

District 6 – John Spartz

District 8 – Aaron Zingsheim

Any notification of “noncandidacy” must be received by the 2nd Friday preceding the deadline for candidacy paperwork. Since nomination papers are due by January 7, 2025, anyone not running for office needs to file their paperwork by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2024.

In Hartford, WI the city clerk filed a notice announcing the mayor and three aldermanic seats were up for election in April 2025.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at an election to be held in the City of Hartford, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the following officers are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed. The term for Mayor and Alderpersons begins on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Office Incumbent Term

Mayor Timothy C. Michalak 3 years (early word is Michalak has turned in non-candidacy papers. More information is expected later today.)

Alderperson, District One Joseph Fulop 3 years

Alderperson, District Two Wayne Rusniak 3 years

Alderperson, District Three Justin Webb 3 years

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the first day to circulate nomination papers is Sunday, December 1, 2024, and the final day for filing nomination papers is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in the office of the City Clerk. Nomination papers are available in the City Clerk’s office.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that if a primary election is necessary, the primary will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

There are two seats on the West Bend School Board up for election on Tuesday, April 1, 2024. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents. Each seat carries a 3-year term beginning Monday, April 28, 2025.

Incumbent Notice of Noncandidacy
Incumbents not running for reelection must file a Declaration of Noncandidacy no later than 5 p.m. on December 27, 2024. If an incumbent fails to file this notification and does not file a Declaration of Candidacy, then the deadline for filing the materials necessary to appear on the ballot is extended by 72 hours for all other candidates. ​​​

A Campaign Finance Registration Statement and a Declaration of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5 p.m., on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in the office of the school district clerk at the Education Service Center located at 735 S. Main Street, West Bend, WI 53095.

Hartford Union High School

There are two candidates up for election in the Hartford Union High School District.

Incumbents Don Pridemore and Craig Westfall. Each seat carries a 3-year term.

Slinger School District

The Slinger School District has three openings on its school board.  Up for election are board president Roman Weninger, Gary Feltz, and Heidi Lofy. Each seat carries a 3-year term.
