Feb. 20, 2017 – Jackson, WI – Kettle Moraine Lutheran gave the No. 1 ranked Ripon Tigers all they could handle on Monday night, but the Chargers fell just short.
KML came out of the gate flying, jumping to a five-point lead, but Ripon’s Eddie Muench and Bennet Vander Plas took over to help the Tigers regain the advantage.
Muench finished with a game-high 20 points and 6 assists, while Vander Plas added 14 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.
Ripon took a 21-25 lead into halftime, and were quick to increase the margin in the second frame. The Tigers pulled out to a double-digit lead midway through the half, and the Chargers couldn’t overcome the deficit.
KML’s Grant Biesterfeld was stellar in a losing effort, tallying 12 points, 5 assists, and 6 rebounds. The Chargers will face Campbellsport in their final regular season game on Thursday night.
