Nice work by West Bend Police following retail theft on Highway 33 and burglary on W. Progress Drive

 

Jan. 23, 2017 – West Bend, WI – RETAIL THEFT / FLEEING AN OFFICER – 1600 Block of West Washington Street
On Jan 22, .2017, at 3:21 p.m., a citizen reported observing a man and a woman running out of Fleet Farm carrying merchandise. The citizen provided a detailed description of the vehicle the individuals entered and drove away. A West Bend police officer observed the vehicle southbound on Highway 45 near Paradise Drive. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver increased her speed in an attempt to flee from the officer. Officers pursued the vehicle until controlled deflation devices were be deployed by the Village of Jackson Police Officers. The vehicle came to a safe stop, and officers took the driver and three passengers into custody. Property stolen from Fleet Farm was in the vehicle.

The Milwaukee woman, 36, driving the vehicle was arrested for Fleeing an Officer and Retail Theft. Officers also cited her for Non-Registration of Auto, Operating after Suspension, and No Insurance. The three passengers; 26-year-old Milwaukee man, a 44-year-old Milwaukee woman, and a 45-year-old Milwaukee man were arrested for Retail Theft. They were also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after officers found glass pipes and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and on their persons.

BURGLARY – 100 Block of West Progress Drive

On January 22, 2017, at 9:13 AM, an employee of Northern Metal and Roofing reported a burglary in which several batteries and gasoline cans were stolen from the business. The investigation identified a current employee of the business as the person involved in the burglary. On Monday, January 23, 2017, West Bend officers arrested the 26-year-old West Bend man for burglary.
