Dec. 12, 2017 – Newburg, WI – On December 9, 2017 at 6:21 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a residence on Main St. in the Village of Newburg reporting a man trapped underneath a vehicle. Upon arrival, authorities found a 52-year-old male trapped underneath the vehicle and not breathing. The individual was freed by Newburg Fire/Rescue.
Lifesaving measures were attempted; however, they were unsuccessful and the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates the individual was working underneath a vehicle which was supported by jacks and jack stands when the vehicle fell onto the man. It is unknown at this time how long the man was trapped prior to being found by a family member.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation and no further details are being released at this time. Foul play does not appear to be a factor.
