The city of West Bend has been working with an interim city administrator since late April and on Monday, Aug. 22 a new city administrator will officially be named. A special meeting has been called for 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.
This past week, Monday, Aug. 15 the council went into closed session to amend some of the wording in the contract.
The city posted the position in mid-May and received about 29 applications. Working with recruitment organization GovHR USA and city department heads, that field of candidates was trimmed to four.
Finalists for the job include Lowell D. Crow, Illinois, David W. Nord, Illinois, Andrew Vickers, Wisconsin and Jay Shambeau, Wisconsin.
Former city administrator T.J. Justice resigned from the post in April after he was arrested for soliciting a 15-year-old girl for sex. Justice is facing a pair of felony charges and he is due back in Waukesha County Court on Aug. 22.
The following matters may be discussed and possible action taken:

Entertain a motion to adjourn into Closed Session pursuant to State Statutes Section 19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. 7. Appointment of City of West Bend City Administrator/Director of Development.
