Jan. 30, 2017 – West Bend, WI – The Hideout Sports Pub will be opening in West Bend in April. The location is formerly home to Benders Restaurant and Sports Bar, 1102 Paradise Drive. Oscar Steinbauer Jr. is partnering with Nora Sanchez, who has been in the restaurant industry for 20 years.
“A friend of mine owns the strip malls and he called me a few weeks ago and asked if we knew anyone interested in a bar,” said Steinbauer. “Later I called my friend Nora; she runs a restaurant and we came in on Sunday and said let’s do it.”
For the past few weeks the business partners have been working with family to clean up the interior of the building. There’s new paint and flooring and updates are being made in the kitchen and behind the bar.
“We’re going to have a small menu and we’ll specialize in gourmet burgers, pizza, wings and fish fries on Friday,” Steinbauer said. “We’ll also have Mexican fare including fajitas and margaritas.”
The beer selections will be standard along with IPAs and Guinness. The Hideout Pub will open 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner.
