June 14, 2017 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – After meeting with National Weather Service officials and the Osceola Management Director Tuesday afternoon, Fond du Lac County Communications and Emergency Management Director Bobbi Hicken said it was determined an EF-0 tornado hit the Town of Osceola Monday night.
A number of people told National Weather Service officials they spotted a waterspout near Kettle Moraine Lake.
Hicken said most of the damage in the County was caused by strong winds with speeds of 60 to 70 miles per hour.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department took over 90 different weather-related calls for service during Monday night’s thunderstorms.
Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt said most of the damage occurred along a straight line, which extended through Brandon-Fairwater to Oakfield, through Byron and Waucosta and continued east to the Dundee area.
Winds of 60 to 70 miles and hour did most of the damage, but a number of structures were also hit by lightning.
