Nancy Kunkler will join the West Bend Joint School District #1 as communications manager on October 23, 2017. In addition to
managing daily communications for internal and external audiences, Ms. Kunkler will develop and implement short- and long-term responsive strategic communications plans for the District.
A longtime resident of the District, Ms. Kunkler was most recently public relations manager at the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, a national nonprofit organization based in Milwaukee.
While at the Alliance, she led strategic marketing and public relations efforts, media relations, speech writing, and digital and print collateral development. She has also worked for public relations agencies in Milwaukee and Washington D.C.. Ms. Kunkler holds a degree in journalism, with an emphasis in public relations, from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
“Nancy brings not only a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and writing skill, but also a very strong commitment to the District vision and mission,” said Laura Jackson, assistant superintendent of schools for teaching and learning.
“Her experience in strategic communications and public relations will contribute greatly to helping the District continue to provide excellence for all children and families.”
Kunkler replaces Katie Klein-Murphy. According to her LinkedIn account was hired in April 2017 and resigned in August 2017.
